

Richard Marshall Butler of Longmont, Colorado died at his home on May 3, 2007. He was 57.Richard was born on September 22, 1949 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to Thomas Marshall and Opal L. (Thomas) Butler. He lived in Missouri until eighth grade when he moved to Longmont with his parents. He then attended and graduated from Longmont High School. Richard was trained as an electrician. He did electrical work for commercial construction projects and was a member of IBEW Local 68. He had been disabled for a number of years.Richard enjoyed working on classic automobiles and had restored a 1955 Ford pickup and a 1973 Ford Ranchero. He enjoyed watching and supporting the Broncos, Nuggets and Rockies.His father and an infant sister, Joyce Ann Butler, preceded Richard in death. His mother, Opal of Longmont; a daughter, Shannon Dujardin of Longmont; a son, Scott Butler and his wife Stacy of Denver, Colorado; a grandson, Rathan Dujardin, a sister, Cynthia Schoendaller and her husband Ray of Anchorage, Alaska, and four nieces and one nephew survive him.Funeral services will be held at Howe Mortuary on Monday, May 7 at 10:00 with David Bradshaw officiating.
