He graduated from Copiague High School in 1977. As a child, he loved fishing and playing drums with his friends. They had formed a band which made them more like family than friends. As Richie got older, he and his father began working closely as chefs. This became Richie’s main occupation in life. Further on, he tried his hand at being a chauffeur driving limousines. He had such a blast driving, this became his second career for over 20 years.
For fun and relaxation, Richie played golf with his friends from New York and Florida. He told us the best stories from those golf outings. Along with golf, he loved playing poker. The last year of his life, he played online poker daily with his friends in New York, Florida and many other places. It was the best way for all of them to stay in touch.
Richie is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Maureen. He is survived by his sister Donna and her husband Michael; his very special Aunt Rhoda Leffert; his golf and Poker buddies; and many extended family members and friends in Colorado and New York.
Although Richie had many hobbies, his true love was for his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
