

Dick was born on March 29, 1927 in Longmont to Earl and Odessa Irene Logan Martindale. He grew up in Longmont graduating from Longmont High in 1945.
Dick entered the U.S. Marine Corp following high school. After returning to Longmont he joined the local Ford dealership. There he worked as a painter for their auto repair business. Over the years, he also painted vehicles, tractors and equipment that can be seen at the Dougherty Museum. Dick worked for various contractors at Rocky Flats for 35 years, retiring in 1991. His skills had him oversee quality control for the manufacturing line.
Dick married Marian Wagner on June 22, 1947, in Longmont. Marian died in 1986, a few days before their 40th Anniversary.
Dick was a 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed his family’s camping and fishing trips for many years. He spent countless hours in his beautiful backyard, growing both vegetables and flowers.
He married Lillian Chavez in January 1992.
Dick is survived by his wife Lillian; his son Mike (Kelly) Martindale of Frederick; daughter Lori (Rusty) Croley of Brighton; step sons Greg (Kim) Chavez of Firestone and Dean (Susan) Chavez of Ft. Lupton; a step daughter Lisa Aguirre of Thornton; a sister Yvonne Zornes of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and grandchildren Dan (Jesse) Faulkner, Adam and Zach Croley, step-grandchildren Robert Logan Jr., Audrey (John) Herman, Colton, Kira, Shea, Dylan, and Ashlin Chavez; and five great-grandchildren.
A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 15 at the Howe Mortuary Community Room.
