

Robert Leroy Armknecht, age 93 of Longmont, Colorado passed away in Longmont on December 19, 2023. Robert was born in St. Francis Kansas on July 10, 1930 to Sylvia Juhl Armknecht and Theodore "Ted" Armknecht. While growing up, Robert participated in 4H, breeding sheep. Bob worked as a youngster delivering grains to market as part of the family business, beginning his love of truck driving. He served in the United States Army as a Staff Sargent in a Tank Division. During his time in the Army, he earned Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and a United Nations Service Medal.
Robert married Twila May Vincent on July 5, 1951 in Raton, New Mexico. Together they had two children, Randy Armknecht and Kathy Green. After returning from Korea, Bob worked for multiple companies completing cross-country hauls for P.I.E., I.M.L., and Yellow Trucking, among others. Before his retirement in 2009, he delivered satellite receivers for Dish Network. In 2009, he moved from Broomfield, Colorado and settled in Longmont, Colorado. He enjoyed the outdoors especially when he was camping and fishing. Robert was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Robert is survived by his wife, Twila Armknecht, his son, Randy Armknecht and daughter, Kathy Green, sister, Skeet Gregory, grandchildren, Justin Armknecht, Lydian Bowley, Randa Armknecht and Douglas Green, and great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Bowley, Zackary Bowley, Carter Armknecht, and Kinsley Armknecht. He was predeceased by his parents, Sylvia Juhl Armknecht and Theodore "Ted" Armknecht, his brother, Ron Armknecht and sister, Mary Lou Garner.
