Robert Basta

Following his high school graduation he went on to pursue his career as a truck driver, logging countless miles prior to retiring.

He married Phyllis Dengler in 1965 and to that marriage his children were born. He and Phyllis later divorced. In June of 1982 he then married Bonnie Waldo in Longmont.

In his free time Bob enjoyed the time he could spend gardening, fishing, watching and participating in sports and pursuing his love of classic cars.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Basta of Longmont, his son Bradley and daughter in law Marlene Basta of Golden, his step-daughter Kerri Berger of Longmont and his granddaughter Tia Hammond. Further surviving are his sisters Helen (Harry) Johns of Longmont, Violet Hartnagle and Diane Silbaugh of Platteville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Kristene Louis Tackberry, his brothers Michael, Danny and George Basta and his sisters Pearl Hopson and Mildred Osborne.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont. Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
