

Robert “Bob” Cruz passed away at Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital in Johnstown, Colorado. He was 84 years old.
Robert was born on December 23, 1938 in Tornillo Texas to Silviano and Concepcion (Delgado) Cruz.
He married Eleanor Marie Bustamante on July 24, 1965.
Robert started his career at an early age in farming and in the trucking industry in Longmont and Denver.
Robert became a soldier in the US Army on November 6, 1961 to October 31, 1967. He was discharged from the US Army with an Honorable discharge. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Robert was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, driving trucks and farming tractors along with farming equipment. He enjoyed planting vegetables like corn, peppers, green beans, squash, pumpkins, cucumbers, tomatoes, cantaloupe and watermelon. He also enjoyed mowing and baling hay.
Robert enjoyed Gospel Western music/shows. He also enjoyed raising and maintaining livestock (chickens, sheep/lambs, goat’s, hogs/pigs, and horses). Cooking and BBQ as well.
Robert is preceded in death by his mother Concepcion, and father Silviano. Two grandfathers and two grandmothers, his brothers Alfred Cruz, Arthur Cruz, Charles Cruz and sister Rosie Flores. His son Robert Cruz Jr, Angela Cruz (Jaramillo) and son in law Fabian Jaramillo.
Robert is survived by his wife Eleanor, His daughters Mary Cruz (Goodman), and Melanie Warner, granddaughter Chantalle Bendzel and his two great grandkids Natalia Ortiz and Gene Ortiz Jr.
Mother in law Mary Bustamante, sisters Rachel Bustamante, Gloria Madrid, Martha Martinez, and Virginia Liges. One brother Paul Cruz. Along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at Ahlberg Funeral Home. (326 Terry St Longmont) Memorial service will be at 6 pm on September 28, 2023 at Restoration Tabernacle, doors open at 5pm. (1831 Boston Ave Longmont). Burial will be held at Ft Logan National Veteran Cemetery on September 29, 2023 at 1pm. (4400 W Kenyon Ave Denver)
the directions: Hampton to Sheridan exit, turn left to second main entrance, turn left again. And then inquire to the visitors center for Robert Cruz burial which is at Shelter B. Direction for parking and burial site will be provided.
