Robert A. Clark passed away on January 20, 2022. He was born September 15, 1923, to Ruth J. (Bullock) and Ansel B. Clark in Boulder, Colorado. He grew up in Frederick, Colorado and graduated high school there.
After high school, Robert joined the Army Air Corp. where he was attached to the famed 491 bomber squadron and worked on B-24 aircraft while serving in England and Germany during WWII. While serving in England, he met and married his wife of 60 years, Doreen Davies (Foxwell). They had three children, Sheila Carranco, Michael Clark, and Brian Clark.
He was honorably separated from the Army in December 1946 and came home to Colorado where he ran the Clark Lumber Company in Mead for a few years.
In 1956, Robert became Mead postmaster and served in that occupation until he retired in 1984. While living in Mead, he served one term as Mead mayor, and was instrumental in bringing Mead up to date with a new water and sewer system and served several terms on the town sewer board. Robert also started and delivered a town newspaper to keep residents informed.
Robert was a lifelong blood donor and donated 25 gallons of blood over the years.
Robert is survived by two children, Sheila and Michael, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doreen and son Brian as well as a sister, his three brothers and twin sister.
