Born in Lafayette, Colorado, to William Joseph DeNovellis and Velma Louise DeNovellis (McClary), Robert was one of four siblings in a lively and loving home. From a young age, he embodied the values that would define his life: loyalty, honesty, and a steadfast sense of duty to those around him.
After high school, Robert attended trade school and went on to become a pipe fitter — a trade he excelled in with great pride and integrity. He was a respected member of the Local 208 Pipe Fitter’s Union for 63 years, known not just for his precision and work ethic, but also for being someone others could always count on, whether it was on the job site or in life.
On May 5, 1960, Robert married the love of his life, Judith Lane Graves. Together, they built a warm and enduring marriage rooted in love, laughter, and deep mutual respect. They raised two children, Robert Joseph DeNovellis and Thomas Anthony DeNovellis, and shared a life full of meaningful moments.
A true outdoorsman, Robert found joy and solace in Wyoming and Montana’s wide-open spaces. He was an avid fly fisherman and deeply loved to spend time in his trailer near Miracle Mile, where he often fished.
Perhaps one of Robert's greatest joys was being a grandfather. He never missed a single baseball game. His presence was a source of strength, encouragement, and love.
Robert will be remembered for the qualities that defined his life: selflessness, dependability, loyalty, trustworthiness, and a deeply genuine heart. He was a man who kept his word, lent a hand without hesitation, and made everyone around him feel safe and valued.
Robert is survived by his sons : Robert (Ann) DeNovellis, and Thomas (Daphne) DeNovellis. His siblings: Barbara Pol, Donna Doyle, and Denny DeNovellis. His grandchildren : David (Ebony) DeNovellis, Derek (Erin) DeNovellis, DeAnn (Andrew) Gottlieb, Olivia DeNovellis, and Dominic DeNovellis. Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith Lane DeNovellis, and his parents, William and Velma DeNovellis.
