Robert Lawrence Sisson

Larry was born on November 8, 1947, in Russel, KS, to Robert Leroy Sisson and Marjorie Lee (Miller) Sisson. He graduated in 1965 from Great Bend High School. He attended Salt City Business College until joining the Navy in 1967. While in the Navy he took classes through the National University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration through Regis in 1995.

Larry’s Navy career was spent in the Pacific, being based in Japan, Taiwan, Hawaii, and San Diego. Larry retired from the Navy in March of 1991 at the rank of Sr. Chief Naval Intelligence (E8).

After retiring from the Navy, he moved to Longmont, CO and went to work for Storage Tech in Louisville, CO for several years where he managed Security Officers and wrote the Skill Base Pay program to assist his team to thrive. Larry also was a volunteer for H.O.P.E. (Homeless Outreach Providing Encouragement).

In July of 1990, Larry was introduced to Susie Steele and they became pen pals and phone buds until they finally met in person in October of 1990, at the home of his brother. There was no turning back and they were married on September 7, 1991 in Longmont, CO.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marjorie Sisson and his son Logan Cameron Steele Sisson. Larry is survived by his wife Susie, and two daughters Stephanie Mayuko (Sisson) Taya, Yokosuka, Kanazawa Japan, and Lennie GeeMae (Sisson) Zimmerman (Gary) Mead, CO, brother Steve Sisson (Amy) of Johnstown, CO; five grandchildren, Hideaki, Nobuaki, Miki Taya, John Groves, and Chloe Sisson.

A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Long’s Peak United Methodist Church, 1421 Elmhurst Dr in Longmont, CO. A reception to greet friends, with light refreshments, will follow in the church fellowship hall.
