Ronald Ray Hogsett

Ron was born July 5, 1951 in Holyoke, Colorado to Vernon and Dorothy Hogsett. The family moved to Longmont in 1959, and Ron graduated from Longmont High School in 1969. Ron was a lifetime jeweler, beginning as an apprentice with Snyders Jewelers. He had a partnership with Walters & Hogsett Jewelers and was sole owner of Ron R. Fine Jewelry from 1993 until retiring in July, 2026. Ron was part of the downtown Longmont community for over 50 years and enjoyed socializing with many loyal friends and clients.

In addition to his passion for pocket watches and jewelry, Ron loved reading, fishing, and hunting. His family cabin in Red Feather Lakes was his happy place.

Ron is survived by his children, Jamie (Adam) Gusea of Fort Collins and Dean Hogsett of Erie; his grandchildren, Kane and Kylin Hogsett; his brother Gordon (Chari) Hogsett of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; his sister Shirla (Doug) Race of Red Feather Lakes; nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Dorothy Hogsett and numerous aunts and uncles.

Per Ron’s wishes, his family will hold a private gathering to celebrate his life.
