He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Marlene; his children Rod (Letty) Lamping, Ron (Loralee) Lamping, and Karen Luebke; and his grandchildren Brittany and Nathaniel Lamping, Brian and Lexi Lamping, Erin (Dan) Kane, Brianna (Riley) Green, Brad (Mary Alice) Luebke, Robin (Jared Allen) Luebke, and Kyle Luebke as well as his sister, Carol Drees. His legacy lives on through 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter Elaine (John) Dailey, grandson Clark Lamping, and a great-granddaughter, as well as his parents and brother.
Ronald’s deep Catholic faith guided his life. He served faithfully within his church community as a sacristan for funerals and as a Eucharistic Minister. One of his most meaningful ministries was bringing communion to shut-ins—quiet acts of devotion that reflected his compassionate heart.
Ronald worked for IBM for 31 years as an Advisory Engineer. A career that moved his family from Kentucky to Colorado, to Arizona and back to Colorado where he lived out his life.
A man of many talents, Ronald was a skilled woodworker, each piece a labor of love. He found joy in the outdoors and excelled in many sports. In earlier years, he also enjoyed singing in a barbershop quartet.
Ronald Lamping will be remembered for the craftsmanship of his hands, the strength of his faith, and the love he shared with all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
