Ronald D. Morton

Ronald D. Ron Morton, 85, of Lyons, Co passed away February 21, 2013 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He was born March 13, 1927 in Loveland, Colorado to Clarence and Martha (Bell) Morton.Ron served in the US Navy during WWII, he married Georgia Michel in 1948 and she preceded him in death in 1982. Ron married Joanne Ritter in 1984 and she preceded him in death in 2011.Ron was the owner of St Vrain Lumber Company in Lyons until he sold it in 1976. He was a 50 year member of the Lions Club a member of the Lyons Volunteer Fire Department and Lyons Town Board. Ron enjoyed woodworking, traveling, skiing, music, plays and photography.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Georgia and Joanne, and one brother Arlen Morton.Ron is survived by two sons; Ronald D. Ron Morton Jr. and wife Janis of Harmony, PA, Gary Morton and wife Karla of Loveland, CO a daughter Kathy Morton and husband Lyle of Berthoud, CO, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held 3 PM Tuesday Feb. 26, 2013 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Contributions can be made to Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute and sent to PO Box 6358 Aurora, CO 80045.
