Rosella Alma Ioerger, 102, passed away peacefully in Loveland, CO, on December 26th, 2024. She was born on May 17, 1922, in Kasota, MN, the daughter of Henry and Eva Marie (Esser) Becker. When Rosella was growing up the family lived in Mankato and Easton, before finally settling in Wells, MN.
Rosella married Henry Ioerger at St. Casimir’s church in Wells on April 22, 1941. Henry and business partner, E.C. Larson owned the Ford auto dealership in Wells during the 1950s and ‘60s. The family re-located to Longmont, Colorado, in 1971 after Henry sold his interest in the Ford dealership in Wells.
Rosella sometimes took jobs outside the home, but was generally a homemaker for their nine children. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to garden, and always had plants all around the house. After Henry passed away, Rosella continued living in the family home into her mid-90s and took care of mowing, cleaning her house, raking leaves, and often shoveling snow for herself. In later life she took up the hobby of refinishing furniture for which she was always fussy. She would keep at it until there was no flaw to be found in any of her finish work.
Throughout her life Rosella was a woman of deep and abiding faith which served as a cornerstone of her daily life. Her Bible was worn and dog-eared from end-to-end, where she would underline passages with written notations on the page margins. A day hardly passed that she did not read from her Bible.
Rosella is survived by her children, Barbara (Richard) McCarrick, Clyde (Mary) Ioerger, Henry (Victoria) Ioerger, all of Longmont, CO; Richard (Kayaudra) Ioerger, Milliken, CO; Alton (Clara) Ioerger, Las Cruces, NM; Shirley (David) Preslicka, Sidney, NE; Eva Marie (Brian) Benson, Berthoud, CO; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry in 1986, a son David in 1984, a daughter Patricia Armstrong in 2023, grand-daughters Amy Armstrong in 2013, and Donnette Davis in 2022. She was also preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses.
