This second message from me is for you, Dawn, and for your family.  The service you prepared for your mom was indeed what she would have wanted.  People who cared about Rosemary were there, and those who couldn't be, celebrated her life regardless of their presence.  Charlotte Iverson's tribute was perfect, the depth of hers and your mom's friendship so clear as she spoke through her tears.  Bless your heart, Dawn, as you remember many, many details of your Life with Mom.  I am honored to have been your mom's friend!  I was honored to celebrate her life with you and your family. Rosie was a true professional and an advocate for her students.  Our classrooms were across the hall and Rosie was always willing to listen, advise and help in anyway she could.  We sure did laugh a lot and bolstered each other when things were tough.  We put on variety shows with the kids.   Rehearsals were always fun and easier with Rosie.
Dawn you can be proud to be her daughter and say "she's my Mom."

Rosie, I have always loved your name. Reminds me of a bright, sunny, beautiful day: vibrant, colorful, someone bearing that name would be a lover of life, enthusiastic.  That sounds just like you. You didn’t look your age, your makeup, perfume, outfits picked and coordinated. You greeted us; me, my husband Kuntal, daughters Ayesha and Aveena, now young adults, with an exuberant hello, sometimes a warm hug. Many times you asked about my family in India, sometimes you shared a memory of your recent trip to Santa Fe, that you had travelled to.

Dawn and Kamal, have been our dear friends for decades, from the time we met in the late eighties to now; our children growing up together; moving through life’s important events together. Rosie and Brandy were such a presence in their lives; they became a presence in ours. We didn’t meet Rosie that often, but she was a part of family celebrations, birthdays and baby showers; weddings and more.  Last time I met you, Rosie, was when we came to meet you at your house in Longmont when Brandy had passed away. It felt as if a shadow had drifted into you and your living room filled with your colorful Christmas collectibles. I didn’t see you after that.

Since then, I heard about you from Dawn, your battles with your medical challenges and age. I asked Dawn about how you were doing; hoping for some positive news each time.  When I asked about you, I remembered my aging parents back home in India. It was comforting  to know that you were doing okay, which strangely assured me that maybe my parents, so far away must be also okay. I have been in awe of Dawn’s dedication to you and your care;  realizing Rosie I knew  maybe looking different. Over the years I have felt your adoration for Nisha and Nikash, your love for Dawn, Kamal and Brandy; your love for family; your flair for living. I didn’t know you well, but yet  I  have felt you as part of this extended family. 

May your journey be filled with peace and love!

We met Rosemary through her daughter Dawn who is a very dear friend. We could feel her love and commitment to her daughter and her family, every time we met her for holidays or family get togethers. She was proud grandmother whose pride was shining in her eyes at her grandchildren’s graduations. We are very happy to know her as a person.  She was strong, lively, kind and loyal. Our heartfelt condolences to the family left behind. Lots of Love to Dawn, Kamal, Nisha and Nikash.

We know Rosie as our dear friend Dawn’s mother. Our kids grew up together so we saw her for birthdays, graduations and basketball games. She was always lovely and dressed to a T. I fondly remember her as a very independent woman and only had kind things to say. Stay strong, Dawn, she was fortunate to have you as a daughter, hugs to you all.

Rosemary was my dear friend as well as colleague at Northeast Junior High.  We had a special bond, with humor and love as the bond.  It was in good fun that she and I celebrated being born the same year; we were growing old together.   Though her now-absence saddens me,  I can celebrate the years we enjoyed in special friendship.

Rosie was on the hiring team that hired me nearly 23 years ago.  She was larger than life to me as I began my teaching career and I have so many fond memories of working with her.  I loved her approach to teaching and many things that she taught me, I still use in the classroom today.  We still talk about her famous sayings (Rosieisms) like "nada tostada."  She was such a huge part of Heritage Middle School and made such an amazing impact on not only the students who were lucky enough to have her as a teacher, but to those teachers who were lucky enough to work along side of her.  My thoughts and prayers go to the family.

Mrs. A was my first junior high school teacher I connected with.   She was there through the good and bad times in school and was always my support to keep me going.   You will be missed Mrs. A.  

My first woodworking project during retirement was a rose that I carved into a wood plaque.  I gave it to Rosemary as a gift.  Later, I asked Rosie where she put my carefully carved plaque with a rose.  Rosemary said she put it on the wall above where she and Brandy slept.  I dare say that I was hesitant to go around Brandy after I knew where my rose resided.  Rosemary please take my rose carving with you to a place of spiritual rest.
