

Roy C. Dening, 52, died unexpectedly on April 23, 2007. Roy was born in Utica, New York on May 3, 1954, the son of the late Calvin and Lois Pomarico Dening. He grew up in Holland Patent, New York and after high school attended Buffalo State University. It was in Buffalo that Roy met and married the love of his life, Judy Hahn. Together they shared 29 wonderful years. Roy and Judy moved to Colorado in 1977, residing in Boulder and Longmont, and finally settling in Berthoud, where they raised their family.Roy was employed as a program manager for Sun Microsystems, formerly known as Storage Tek. As a respected member of the community, his influence was felt both as a trustee for the Town of Berthoud and as a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. Roy had a great love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family, for whom he made great sacrifices.Besides his wife, Judy, he leaves behind two beloved sons: Colin and his wife Arielle of Denver, Colorado and Travis of Greeley, Colorado; four sisters, Arline and her husband Richard Harvey of Trenton Falls, New York, Lynn and her husband Lorenzo Ballard of Remsen, New York, Joyce Stockhauser of Portland, Oregon, and Gail Sakamoto of Portland, Oregon; one brother-in-law, Russell Hahn and his wife Anne of Olean, New York and his wife?s parents, Clarence and Jean Hahn of Olean, New York. Also surviving are nine nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman Street in Longmont.
