Rudolph Michael 'Mike' Vidmar, D.C.

Rudolph Michael Mike Vidmar, D.C., of Broomfield died March 10, 2011 at his home. He was 59 years old. Mike was born on September 15, 1951 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Rudolph and Leona (Powell) Vidmar. After completing his undergraduate studies in Southern Colorado, Mike diligently attended and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. While at Palmer, Mike was a meat cutter and a member of Pi Tau Delta Honor Society. Mike was the founder of Applied Kinesiological Group in Longmont and a leading pioneer in cold laser technology. For 30 years, his clinical competency and techniques had people coming to him from all over the world for treatment. Many professional athletes and organizations such as the New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies, Oakland A's, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres and the Denver Broncos utilized his expertise for their athletes, but, Michael however treated everyone the same. He was a consummate doctor whose true passion was treating patients, people of all types, making them well and helping them attain better health on all levels. He was a dog lover, devoted to his Belgian Malinois, Jester; an avid yachtsman and outdoorsman who also loved riding bicycles, motorcycles, golfing, scuba diving, reading, photography, and snow skiing. Lake Powell was a special passion. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mike is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Vidmar of Broomfield; his children, Jason Vidmar and his wife Shannon of Longmont and Kirsten Vidmar of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Tylar and Beau Gaynor of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Austin Hood of Longmont; his stepfather, Chuck Roark and his wife Trudy of Panama City, Florida and his sister, Judy Vitale of Pueblo. Mike will be remembered at a memorial service at 3:00 PM on Thursday March 17, 2011 at LifeBridge Christian Church, 10345 Highway 66 in Longmont. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
