Russ Rountree

Russ Rountree, 72, of Longmont passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at his home.Russell Fredrick Rountree was born to parents Russell E. and Rhoda (Quick) Rountree, May 29, 1943 in Aurora.After graduating from Cherry Creek High School, Russ earned his Associates Degree in Business Management from Arapah Community College.He served in the Army as a mechanic and was stationed in Germany and France.On November 11, 1989, Russ married Barbara Lesser and they moved to Longmont from Strasburg, CO. Russ was previously married to Vicki Ruscetta.Russ was a supervisor for 16 years at Gates Rubber Company. He also worked at Container Industries and The Best Stop.Russ was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Longmont Moose Lodge. Russ was not only a skilled mechanic, but he also was a very talented artist. He enjoyed wood working, playing the guitar and was an excellent leather craftsman.He was preceded in death by his parents.Russ is survived by his wife Barbara; his sons Chris (Michelle) Rountree, Curtis (Tracy) Rountree, and Cory Hensley; his daughter Tammy (Daniel Gilbert) Hensley; His grandchildren Courtney (Landon Curry) Rountree, Bre'Anna Rountree, Austin Medina, Jacob Brown, Michael Rountree, and Brayden Lobberding; great grandchildren Anthony, Austin and Tristan Curry, Ezther and Aurora Chavez; his brothers Rick and Roger Rountree; his sister Ruth Rountree; and his special friend Rowdy.A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday February 17, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
