Sabino Lontine,

Sabino ?Sonny? Lontine, Jr., 69, passed away Dec. 23, 2007, in Pueblo. Sonny was born in Puritan Camp, Erie, Colo., on August 29, 1938, to Dora (Muniz) and Sabino Lontine, Sr.Sonny attended Erie Schools, graduating from Erie High School in 1957. He was a letterman in both football and basketball, making the all-state football team both his junior and senior years. Sonny married Mary ?Rose? Cardenas in Brighton, CO on November 5, 1960.He worked as a journeyman sheet metal worker, with the Local Union #9. He stayed active in sports, coaching little league teams in Erie for many years. He was a member of St. Pius X Parish.Survived by his wife, Mary ?Rose? Lontine; sons, Thomas Larry (Tracy Romero) Lontine of Pueblo, and Charles Julian Lontine of Pueblo West; grandchildren, Shaleena and Shanae Lontine; six brothers; and four sisters. He is preceded in death by his son, Bobby Dean Lontine and four brothers. Viewing Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Funeral Mass, 1 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007, at St. Pius X Parish, 3130 Morris Ave., with the Rev. Father Ben Bacino as celebrant. Cremation will follow, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Interment will be Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at 11 a. m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, CO.
