Sara C. Lyons

Sara C. Lyons, of Longmont, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 60 years old. Born in Rye, New York on June 30, 1946 to Norman and Lucille (Cutler) Shellman, Sara grew up and attended schools in the Chicago, IL area. After graduating from Deerfield High School in Chicago in 1964, she went on to receive her bachelor?s and master?s degrees from Denver University. Ms. Lyons worked as a schoolteacher for Cherry Creek Schools for 23 years before her retirement in 2003. Sara is preceded in death by her brother Peter Shellman. She is survived by her daughter Jeanne Shaunessy of Duxbury, MA; her three sons, Pete Lyons of Denver, Sean Lyons of Littleton, and Colin Lyons and his wife Khara of Denver; her grandson Connor Lyons; her granddaughters, Caroline and Julia Shaunessy; and domestic partner Brian ?Kurt? Anderson of Longmont. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2006 at St. Andrew?s Presbyterian Church in Denver. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary in Longmont. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Susan G.
