Sarah Jean FortierApril 19, 1944 “ February 16, 2016Sarah Jean Fortier, the daughter of Charles Thomas and Dorothy Lee (Smith) Poindexter, passed away on February 16, 2016 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 71 years old.Sarah Jean was born on April 19, 1944 in Dalton, Georgia before her family moved to Boise, Idaho where she grew up. She graduated from high school in 1962 in Boise before attending the Emily Griffith Opportunity School in Denver. Sarah graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse.Sarah, along with her family, moved to Longmont in 1974. She worked at the Longmont United Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. Sarah later worked for Careertrack where she retired.Sarah Jean was a devote Christian and was affiliated with the Christian Churches in the Longmont area. She enjoyed traveling the world and playing various games and puzzles.Sarah was preceded in death by her father Charles Poindexter, and her brother Tom Poindexter.She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Lee Poindexter; son, Mike Fortier; daughter, Christina Marrer; twin-sister, Sandy Van Hooser; brother, Rick (Chris) Poindexter; sister, Patricia (Stuart) Wilcox; longtime gentleman friend, Don Roberts; and her beloved K.C. the cat.A public visitation will be held at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont on Friday February 19, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Foothills Gardens of Memory at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 20, 2016 with a reception immediately following at Front Range Christian Fellowship in Longmont.In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Longmont Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
