
Dr. Sidney ˜Sid' Wolf, 78, passed from this earth on January 10, 2013 in Longmont, CO, with his wife Amber by his side. Dr. Wolf was born December 30, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Morris and Anna Wolf. He received his Ph.D. from Catholic University in 1970, his Master's Degree from American University in 1964, both in Washington, DC; and his Bachelor of Science from The University of Baltimore, Maryland, in 1960. Sid was recognized internationally as an author, researcher, spiritual counselor, educator, body worker, and healer. He began his career taking part in landmark studies of the therapeutic benefits of LSD used in conjunction with psychotherapy; treating alcoholics, psychiatric patients and the terminally ill. In addition to his valuable contribution to mental health and medical research, he served his community as the director of the Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse for the Baltimore County Department of Health. In 1982, Sid moved with his family to San Diego, California where he directed the Psychotherapy Institute of San Diego. And in 1995, he relocated again to Lyons, Colorado, where he began his work as an intuitive healer. Sid's combined background in clinical psychology, his knowledge of bodywork and his lifelong devotion toward deeper spiritual understanding enabled him to serve as a holistic healer in the Longmont community as well as communities around the world. He was a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals, the International Body Talk Association and was a Minister in the Universal Life Church. Sid was most happy in the sunny outdoors where he could engage in his moving meditation, bird watch, and kayak with Amber, friends and family.Sid is survived by his wife and spiritual partner, Amber. He is survived by his six children and their spouses/partners as well as four grandchildren; son Ken and grandchildren Enzo and Tucker; son Craig and wife Sally and grandchildren Hannah and Zachary; son Cameron and partner Dale; son Scott and wife Wendy; daughter Heather and son Orion. For those whose lives he touched with his wisdom, sense of humor, generosity, healing and love; his loving energy and light will always be with us.A memorial service will be held for Dr. Wolf at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501, with a life celebration following the service from 3:00pm-5:30pm at the Dickens Opera House in Longmont.
