Simone SmithNovember 8, 1936 ? March 29, 2007Simone Smith of Longmont went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2007 at the Hospice Care Center in Louisville. She was 70.Simone was born in Kimball, Nebraska on November 8, 1936 to Alex and Elizabeth Strasheim. She graduated from Kimball High School in 1955. In June 1955, she married Richard Schindler of Kimball where they made their home. Her husband died of an accident in 1958 leaving Simone with a one-year-old son, Troy. On September 3, 1960, Simone married Wayne Smith in Kimball where they lived for a few months. They then moved around the Rocky Mountain area, Chicago and Alaska with the company Wayne worked for. The couple moved to Longmont in 1991.Simone?s family was very important to her and she loved and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and the family get togethers with her parents, brothers, and sisters. She enjoyed the changing of the seasons, especially the fall season and enjoyed decorating for the seasons and holidays. She loved interior design and floral designs. Simone owned Designs by Simone, a floral design business for several years in the 1990?s.Simone was a born again Christian and an active member of New Creation Church. She loved the Lord and had a heart and love for Israel.Simone is survived by her husband Wayne of Longmont; her mother, Elizabeth Strasheim of Kimball, Nebraska; her son, Troy Schindler and his wife Kathryn of Centennial, Colorado; her daughter, Terri Aicega and her husband Bill of Broomfield, Colorado; a sister Kathey Disler and her husband Jim of Fort Collins, Colorado; four brothers: Larry Strasheim and his wife Sharee of Denver, Wesley Strasheim and his wife Kenlyn of Highlands Ranch, Gene Strasheim and his wife Betty of Colorado Springs, and John Strasheim and his wife Karen of Centennial; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father; her fist husband, Richard Schindler; and a sister, Helen Neilon.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3 at Howe Mortuary from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4 at 10:00 a.m. at New Creation Church with Pastor Ronnie Brumley officiating.
