Stamer was born at home on May 3, 1936, to Clarence and Emma (Stahmer) Geminden in Enid, Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from Carrier, Oklahoma, schools in 1954. He graduated from Oklahoma A&M (OSU), Stillwater, Oklahoma, in 1958. His first job was at Sandia Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was recruited from Sandia to Ball Brothers Research Corporation (Ball Aerospace) in 1960 as a Senior Software Engineer and retired on January 31, 2000.
Stamer and Donna (Wofford) first met at their church youth group as teens. They were married on October 19, 1957, in Enid, Oklahoma. Donna truly was the love of his life.
From childhood farm life to software engineer at Ball, family was always precious to Stamer. He was grateful he was able to take his young family to Cocoa Beach, Florida, for launches of projects he worked on, such as OSO and Viking. He was involved in the Hubble project, and before retiring, he and Donna traveled to Hawaii and Belgium for the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Stamer and Donna continued to travel after retirement, often just getting in the car and going with no real destination.
Stamer is survived by his brothers David (Sharon) of Johnstown, Colorado, and Jimmy (Helen) of Carrier, Oklahoma; daughters Kathy (Lonnie) Stevens of Maud, Texas; Honnan Geminden of Longmont; and Stacy Latini of Longmont.
He was adored by his grandchildren Jen Stevens, Julie (Russ) Beydler of Maud, Texas; Jared (Becky) Stevens of San Antonio, Texas; Amanda (Tony) Unruh of Derby, Kansas; Russell Geminden of Longmont; Ryan (Jen) Latini of Burien, Washington; Christen (Jonathan) Cyprowski of Berthoud, Colorado. He loved seeing and hearing news about his great-grandchildren: Mason Simms and Ashtyn Goecke; Ethan, Archer, and Georgia Beydler; Michael and Esther Stevens; Elara, Ember, and Tucker Unruh; Cora, Robin, and Adam Latini; Emery and Judah Cyprowski.
Preceding him in death were his wife Donna, son Stamer Jr., grandson Joshua Stevens, son-in-law Mario Latini, his parents, and brothers Robert and Philip (Sharon) Geminden of Plano, Texas.
