

Stephen Kohler, Jr. 36, of Longmont, died July 5, 2010 at his home.He was born August 21, 1973 in Easton, Pennsylvania, the only child of Stephen and Barbara (Ross) Kohler. He graduated from Diruff High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and furthered his education at Drexel University obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1996. Stephen was self-employed through STS Controls at Suncor Energy Inc. in Commerce City, CO. Prior to STS Controls, Stephen worked at AAI and Results Engineering.He will be remembered as a great friend to many. He valued his friendships more than anything else and enjoyed spending time at the Pumphouse, ""Pumpshack,"" in Longmont. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, riding for hours, and sometimes days, acquiring an impressive collection of Harley t-shirts along the way. An avid fan of the Colorado Rockies, Stephen relished in the post-season games of 2007 and 2009, and also enjoyed the fireworks on Coors Field in 2010. In addition to his love for classic rock, including AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, and Billy Joel, Stephen enjoyed jazz music and the blues. He had an adventurous lifestyle and lived every moment. His many outdoor activities included four wheeling, Telemark and downhill skiing, hiking, backpacking, biking, camping, and ocean/sea kayaking.Stephen will be deeply missed by his mother, Barb Kohler, and his father, Stephen Kohler, his grandparents, Dorothy and Stephen Kohler, and his grandfather, Earl Ross. A local memorial celebration will be held at the Pumphouse Brewery Red Zone in Longmont on Saturday, July 17th at 5:00PM. Services will be held in Pennsylvania.
