

Susan C. Carr was born on March 24, 1948 in Casper, Wyoming to the parents of Robert Norman Hastings and Ione Dolores Harmon Hastings. Her father was in the oil business and they soon moved to Houston, Texas where she was raised. Susi graduated from Memorial High School in 1966.
In the fall of 1966, she made her way to Boulder, Colorado to attend the University of Colorado. She was an active sister of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She then graduated from C.U. in 1970 and began her life working different secretarial jobs around the area. She worked and retired from St. Vrain Valley School District, where she made many lifelong friends.
In 1972, she married Arlen P. Ostrander and had two daughters, Katherine J. Ostrander Eskridge, and Christine M. Ostrander Manley.
In 1991, Susi married the love of her life Charles M. Carr on July 5, in Peaceful Valley Colorado. They spent their time together traveling the world, but most importantly spending at least one week a summer at their favorite spot, The Grand Tetons in Wyoming. They also enjoyed spending time with family and friends over dinners and attending numerous music, art and of course C.U. athletic events. If there was a party, Susi was sure to be there!
Susi loved her grandchildren with her whole heart and they were her whole world. Whenever possible she was attending one of their sporting or school events. She could not be more proud of all of them and loved visiting with them and weekly call ins.
She was a devote Episcopalian and had a very deep faith. She loved her church, St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Longmont, where she was actively involved in the Alter Guild and Church Choir.
Susi is proceeded in death by her father, Robert and Ione Hastings, Pete and Less Curry, and George Harmon.
She is survived in death by her husband and soul mate, Charles Madison Carr. Daughters, Katherine Eskridge (Clint), Chrissie Manley (Mike). Her Grandchildren Wesley Zamudio, Abbey Zamudio, Kiley Zamudio, Kinnick Manley, Lila Manley and Alex Eskridge (Taylor) and great grandson Wyatt Eskridge. Also, her brother, David Hastings (Ruth), Brother-in-law Dr. Alfred N. Carr (Kay). Nieces, Nephews and cousins Rachel Jensen (Navead), Anne Hastings, Amy Divelbiss (John), Eric Carr, Nathan Carr, David Carr (Carolyn), and Tina Harmon.
Susi was “just the best” and will be forever missed!
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Madison Family Farm located at 14020 N. 87th Street, Longmont CO, 80503 at
11 A.M. There will be seating for 100 so please bring along an extra lawn chair.
There will be an open house. Immediately following the service located at 1193 Purdue Dr. Longmont CO, 80503.
All friends and family are welcome! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 1303 S. Bross Lane, Longmont CO, 80501.
