Sylvia Ruth Byers

Sylvia Ruth Byers, of Longmont passed away December 11, 2014 at her home. She was 65.Sylvia was born a fourth generation native on December 19, 1948 in Boulder, Colorado to Raymond L. and Verda R. (Coleman) Oram. She graduated from old Fairview High School in 1967 and from Parks College with an Executive Assistant Degree. She married Carl Byers in Boulder in 1968.Living her whole life in Boulder County, Sylvia worked for several companies in the area. As well as being a homemaker she spent much time and energy on 4-H programs, Boulder County Fair Board where she was Past President, church programs, school music and athletic programs and Elks Lodge programs. She lived life full time. Sylvia was a member of Old Stone Congregational Church, Lyons, B.P.O. Elks #1055 Ladies Auxiliary, Extension Homemakers, and past member of the Boulder County Fair Board.She is preceded in death by her parents.Sylvia is survived by her husband, Carl R. Byers, three sons, J.B. Carl Raymond Byers, Jr. and his girlfriend Stephanie Hradecky, Michael Byers and his wife Susanne and William Byers; one daughter, Cherilyn Renee Byers; six grandchildren, Travis, Timothy, Shane, Lillian, Delaney, and Madison; two brothers, Marvin Oram and his wife Laura and Ernest Oram and his wife Beth and sister Marilyn Bernzen and husband Russ.Visitation will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 5 “ 7 pm at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held 9:30 AM Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at Green Mountain Cemetery, Boulder with Memorial Funeral service at 11:00 AM Friday, December 19, 2014 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
