
Tenny Dahlin Lode, PhD, 86 of Boulder lost his long struggle with Alzheimer's on May 22, 2018 in Longmont, CO. Tenny was born February 17, 1932 in Colerain, MN to Trygve and Gunda (Dahlin) Lode.As a young child, he fell ill with polio and tuberculosis and had to be home schooled for a few terms. Tenny excelled at his studies and graduated from University High School in St. Paul, MN in 1947 at the age of fifteen. He then graduated in 1950 from the University of Minnesota with a BA, Summa Cum Laude. He completed his Masters in 1966 at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He and his family moved to Colorado in 1970 and he completed his PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Wisconsin long distance in 1972. On August 6, 1995 he married Barbara England in Colorado.Tenny had a truly brilliant mind and was a gifted analyst, scientist and mathematician. He had over seventy-five patents; the last issued to him at age 80, and developed countless devices for the aeronautical industry. He enjoyed operating his single and double engine airplanes. He started his own company, Colorado Commodities Management in 1979 and was very successful at managed futures trading. Tenny was a member of MENSA, Phi Beta Kappa and MFA Trade Associations. He traveled extensively for business, combining business and pleasure and then enjoyed leisure travel after retiring.Tenny is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara England-Lode, five children; Tané, Trygve, Erik, Anders (Robin) and Isak Lode, four grandchildren; Sam, Arthur, Aaralyn and Iris and his two ex-wives, Jane and Sherry.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Colorado Chapter or to the Wild Animal Sanctuary.
