

Terri Maes, “The Bear”, 48, of the Longmont and Dacono area, died early Friday, September 24, 2010. She passed peacefully of natural causes in the comfort of her own home. Terri had been sick for a number of years and had recently been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Terri was born June 8, 1962 in Fort Collins, CO, the daughter of Bill and Myrna (Elkins) Vannorsdel.
Terri enjoyed camping, fishing, playing bingo and her new hobby of getting tattoos. As she fought her illnesses she still made a point of spending time with her family, her children and most importantly her grandchildren. She loved any time that she could spend with them, knowing that they loved her in return.
Terri is survived by her parents Bill and Myrna Vannorsdel of Longmont, her husband Richard Maes of Dacono and her three children Rachael Maes and her boyfriend Ron Campos of Dacono, Maria Maes and her boyfriend Tony Villalobos of Longmont and Abel Maes and his girlfriend Betsy Sifuetez of Dacono. Her grandchildren Alyssa Maes and Gabriel Maes also survive her. Further survivors include her brother Jim Vannorsdel and his family of Lyons, and her sister and best friend Tammi K. Johnson and her husband Ronald of Ft. Lupton, CO and her nephew Bill LaFontaine.
She was preceded in death by her twins Stephanie and Amber Maes and her granddaughter Lily Eddlemon. All who knew her will miss Terri, but she will never be forgotten.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Service. Private family services have been held at Howe Mortuary.
A Celebration of Terri’s life and a time of remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at 1:30 p.m. at 1147 MacLean Street in Dacono, CO. Please call Rachael at 720-763-2860 for directions.
Memorial contributions may be given to Abel Maes, 1147 Maclean St. Dacono, CO 80514, to be used for the family to help defray Terri’s medical costs.
