Terry Boysen

T. K. ""Terry"" Boysen of Longmont, CO died at her home on March 2, 2009. She was 86.Terry was born on January 20, 1923 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota to Edward Reynolds and Gertrude Koenig where her father was stationed. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended Washington University in St. Louis. Terry married Anthony Deiters with the couple later divorcing. Terry worked for Woolworth's and General Cable Corporation in Missouri before being transferred to the offices in California. She served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the cryptology division and was assigned to the Navy Annex in the Washington, D.C. area. Following the war she worked for the Ford Motor Company in the Marketing Division in Oakland, California for many years before she retired.Terry married John Boysen on April 15, 1965 in Reno, Nevada. The couple moved to the Longmont area from Castro Valley, California in 1992. Terry was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and making afghans, bowling, and traveling. While living in California, Terry and John enjoyed boating. Terry was a member of the Women's Marine Corps League, the VFW Color Guard for Post 2601 in Longmont, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.Terry is survived by her husband John; a son Michael Deiters and his wife Erin of La Grange, California, and grandchildren Lacey and Michael; a brother Ed Koenig of Florissant, Missouri; two sisters: Edna Jung of Harlingen, Texas and Ruth Price of St. Louis, Missouri; a nephew Edwin R. Koenig, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri along with a host of other family members and friends. Her parents and a brother who died as an infant preceded her in death.A visitation will be held at Howe Mortuary on Wednesday, March 4 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 at Howe Mortuary. Burial with military honors will be held at Foothills Gardens of Memory following the services.Memorials may be given to the Longmont Human Society, 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, CO 80501.
