Terry was born on December 1, 1944, in Milford, Connecticut, to George and Beryl (Hudson) Stout. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1963 and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy as a Radioman Second Class (RM2) from June 20, 1966, to June 1, 1970. A graduate of the Basic Submarine School, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the SSBN Deterrent Patrol Insignia.
On September 25, 1977, he married Susan DeVore in Arlington, Texas. Together they built a life grounded in love, family, and quiet strength, first in Midlothian, Texas, and later in Dacono, Colorado.
Terry worked faithfully as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and retired in 2012. He was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and took pride in serving his community.
As a young man, Terry had a passion for scuba diving spearfishing, a hobby that reflected his adventurous spirit and love of the water. Terry loved the simple pleasures of life—gardening in the sunshine, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. He was a man of quiet humor, loyalty, and love, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and service.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan DeVore Stout of Dacono, CO; his daughters, Nicole Harrison of Azle, TX, Jesse (Bo) Bartlett of Dallas, TX, and Whitney (DJ) Eipper of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Trent (Megan) Sampson of Barling, AR, Everett Eipper, Charlotte Eipper, and Luke Eipper, all of Longmont, CO; great-granddaughters Evelyn and Ruth Sampson of Barling, AR; and his sister Linda Sheen of Arlington, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Beryl Stout.
