
Thelma Marie Cooper of Longmont left to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2013. Thelma passed away from a broken heart, missing her beloved husband Bob. She was so cherished and loved by all of her family, friends, and everyone's life she touched. She was so generous with her caregiving of our entire family and of many friends. Many of us called her our angel here on earth and we know she will be in heaven.Thelma was born on October 5, 1932 in Endicott, NY to Dana and Bernice Harned. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents Dana and Bernice Harned, step-mother Mildred Harned,Thelma is survived by four children, Judy Cooper, Sue Cooper and partner Stan Lewis, Pat Stoll and her husband Jay of Longmont and Steve Cooper and his wife Christy of Tucson, AZ. Thelma is survived by nine grandchildren, Cara (partner Zach), Adam, Chad (wife Ashley), Lee, Lindsay (husband Zach), Dana (husband George), Danny, Brittany, Jamie (husband Desi) and Andrew and nine great-grandchildren Jordan, Clayton, Emma, Daelyn, Austin, Lincoln, Dominic, Murphy and Anya. Thelma is also survived by her sister Beverly Holder and her husband J , sister's-in-law Peggy Carolan and her husband John, Gerry Tinder and many nieces and nephews.Thelma was raised in Owego, NY. Thelma and Bob met and were married in 1952. They have enjoyed over 58years of marriage. Thelma and Bob moved from Endicott, NY to Boulder, Colorado in 1965 with their fourchildren. She worked at JC Penny's for over 20 years. Thelma and Bob moved to Arizona City in 1987 where they were very active in their community and their church. They volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. They were active in the Chamber of Commerce and logged many hours of golf. Thelma and Bob moved back to Colorado in 1997. They volunteered for the OUR Center in Longmont, CO. Thelma was a volunteer at St. Francis of Assisi helping provide lunches at the funerals held at the church.Thelma had been a devoted Catholic belonging to St. Francis of Assisi in Longmont. She enjoyed lunches withfriends on Wednesdays and many car rides out in the country when her husband was here to enjoy that with her. She loved planting a beautiful flower garden in memory of her husband. She spent a lot of time with her family and enjoyed traveling, taking many trips all over the world with family and friends. She loved to golf and also loved to watch the Rockies. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, shopping for beautiful flowers and going to Black Hawk with family in memory of her husband.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3791 Pike Road in Longmont.
