

Thomas “Tom” Stevenson, 86, of Longmont, CO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, surrounded by love. Tom was born on May 24, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1962.
After his military service, Tom began a long and fulfilling career with United Airlines, where he worked for 37 years before retiring. His strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in his work were evident to everyone who knew him.
In 1980, Tom began his lifelong commitment to sobriety with resolve and humility. Guided by perseverance, faith, and the support from his community, he dedicated himself to helping others find their own path to recovery. Through this work, he found peace and purpose, inspiring others to live with courage, integrity, and a renewed belief in the power of second chances.
Tom expressed a lifelong interest in caring for, and driving, his cars. He spent many happy hours working outdoors, tending to his home, and keeping his yard immaculate. He also cherished visits and conversations with family, enjoying moments of connection whenever possible.
Tom is survived by his sister, Sue (Howard) Beslack and her children Barb (John) Gudenburr and Todd Beslack, and his daughter, Donna (Marty) Kain and her children, Nicole Green, Holly (Zach) Hadfield, and Anthony (Kate) Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Elizabeth (Whitby) Stevenson.
Tom will be laid to rest privately at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder.
A celebration of life for all who cared for Tom will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Howe Mortuary & Crematory located at 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to TRU Hospice of Longmont in his honor.
