I meet Tim through church and and became great friends with his son. I spent many nights at their home, and got to know them pretty well. I could tell Tim was a great guy. He let some kid he barely knew into his home, and always made sure I was invited to events or felt at home. I aspire to be the man Tim is thank you for welcoming me into your home and family.

A new family moved into our area where I grew up in Northeast Iowa. A young family with a little girl and boy. That is where I first met Tim, a big guy who was full of life, energy, and fueled by passion.

Safe to say I was naturally drawn to him.

During one of our conversations is when I found out he was a former marine. Tim was the guy who taught me to never say someone is an ex-marine...cause once a marine always a marine. (Oorah)

Back in high school I had a problem. One that I would love to have again. I was very skinny, actually incredibly scrawny. Tim being the loving person who he was took me under his wing. Taught me how to lift weights and bulk up. From that point forward, he would always be known to me as "Big Tim".

Big Tim...thank you. You are a life that is gone way too soon. The energy, passion , and drive you had was infectious and your love of the Lord was apparent. As a believer there is no such thing as good bye. There is only see you soon.

So my friend...I will see you soon.

With Love and Sorrow,

Tim was a great friend and mentor. He inspired me and countless others to always be better people. Tim was a Hero who served his country, his family, and God in all things. It’s sad to hear of him passing at such a young age, a father, a grandfather, a husband, a true friend. Tim you will be *so* greatly missed! Christen, I am so very sorry for your loss. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. You are in our prayers. Rest well and be at peace My Friend!

Your family is in our prayers. Tim "Tyson", was a great friend through college. One of the nicest guys I've ever known. So happy we got to see him a few months ago when he came through Des Moines, and meet Christen. He left me with a big hug and a smile, that's what I'll remember.

We are so saddened by this news. We met Tim as freshmen in college and shared so many fun times. We laughed a lot and went on some adventures that we will never forget. Tim you were loved. Prayers for Christen, who we were honored to meet in September, and to Tim's family. Rest in peace Tyson
