

Timothy Wayne “Tim” Frei, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 after a long battle with colon cancer. He was born in Sterling, Colorado on August 27, 1957, to Darwin and Virginia (Marostica) Frei.
Tim started working at Sekich Equipment Company in Longmont painting tractors when he was 14. He worked as a salesman for Sekich’s for many years. He later purchased Grand Prix Towing, Northside Towing II, Blue Sky Towing and Tim’s American Towing, from which he retired. Tim had a passion for working on cars, collecting and restoring vintage cars and drag racing. For many years, Tim took his sons and other high school kids to the High School Drag Races at Bandimere Speedway. For a number of years, Tim raced at Julesburg Drag Strip, occasionally renting the track and sponsoring races. His racing team was named Mate Racing.
Tim was a very compassionate man and was always there to help family, friends and complete strangers.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Aaron and Timmy (Alice), his grandchildren Christian, Adrian, Alyssa and Timothy, and his sisters Julie Kerr (Rob Sakata) and Jeanne Frei (Ray Kastanek). He is further survived by five aunts and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2025. The actual date will be announced at a later time.
Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary & Crematory of Longmont, Colorado.
