

Tonie Albenia Padilla (Romero-Rodriguez) sadly passed away on October 6, 2023. She was born March 30, 1939, in New Mexico. Tonie was well known for her bubbly personality and enthusiasm for life. She loved people and always had a smile to share. Throughout her life, Tonie went out of her way to assist others. She could always be counted on to provide a ride, food, or friendly conversation. Her outreach impacted many.
Tonie was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont throughout her life. Her faith was a guiding force in all that she did. Tonie was also an advocate for the democratic process and stood up for the rights of helping others assimilate into American culture. Later in life, she also worked as an election official.
While dedicated to her three children, Tonie always worked outside the home as well. When she wasn't working, she loved spending time with her family, extended family and many friends. Tonie was known for her big heart. Her door was always open to all. She greeted guests and anyone she met with a big smile. Her constant show of happiness and joy was a gift to anyone who met her.
Tonie is survived by her sister Rose Borrego; two brothers Ray and Leroy Padilla; three children Alan Romero, Gene Romero and Nancy Brown (nee Romero); six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She came from a family of nine children and had over 100 nephews and nieces.
