Travis Collins Moore entered into peaceful rest on February 4, 2010 after a long battle with pulmonary disease. Although broken in body, his spirit and drive prevailed until he made the decision to accept God's will and take the path everlasting. Travis was born in Houston, Texas on October 31, 1952 but called Colorado his home for the past 30 years, settling in Longmont. He had a strong community of faithful friends, many of whom were there for him as he physically became incapacitated and circled near as he slipped from this earth. The love for his family and friends along with his passion for music, art, fishing, motorcycles, and all sports especially golf, and cutting edge technology, peppered with a wry sense of humor and his respect for others to choose their own path in life are all interwoven into his legacy.Travis leaves behind his son Willie Earl Moore and daughter Charity April Brown, five grandchildren, mother Elizabeth Jane Ponder and dad, Herbert C. Ponder, sisters Dorothy Elizabeth McGee and Virginia Kay Huff, brother, Carter Moore and his Colorado family of friends. He was preceded in death by his father Carter Dixon Moore and brother James Monroe Ponder. It was Travis' desire that all those he loved would come together in remembrance for a short memorial to be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary in Longmont, Colorado. A celebration and release of his remains will be in the Spring and details will be forthcoming. It would be a source of great comfort and befitting Travis' love for the internet if you would post and share your thoughts, memories and condolences with us at www.howemortuary.com.
