Troy was a beloved husband, father, Papa, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose love for life was as big as his heart. He lived with a spirit of adventure, a passion for music, an incredible work ethic, and a loyalty to the people he loved that never wavered.
A talented motor and airplane mechanic, Troy took great pride in his work. He had a natural gift for understanding how things worked and the determination to figure out how to fix just about anything.
His hardworking nature was matched only by his love for enjoying life to the fullest.
Troy believed life was meant to be lived, and he made sure to do just that. Whether he was riding his beloved Harley on a beautiful day, enjoying the water on a boat or jet ski, camping under the stars, attending concerts, or sharing laughter with his closest friends, Troy embraced every opportunity to make memories. He loved music, adventure, and the freedom of the open road.
Some of his happiest moments were spent traveling with his beloved wife, Janet. Whether they were visiting family or escaping to a beautiful tropical destination, Troy treasured their adventures together and the life they built side by side.
But above all else, Troy’s greatest pride and accomplishment was his family.
He was a devoted husband to Janet, a loving father to David, Tami, and Shane, and a proud Papa to Bradley, Madalyn, Evan, Lenni, Maxwell, and Leo. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable happiness, and he especially loved sharing adventures on the water, boating, jet skiing, and creating memories they will carry with them forever.
Family meant everything to Troy. He cherished being a big brother to Richard and Isabel and an uncle to Luke. The bonds he shared with his loved ones were among the greatest treasures of his life.
Troy leaves behind his loving wife, Janet McCutcheon; his children, David, Tami, and Shane; his six cherished grandchildren, Bradley, Madalyn, Evan, Lenni, Maxwell, and Leo; his father, Alfred Tilley; his brother, Richard Tilley; Sister in law, Isabel Tilley; his nephew, Luke Tilley; Daughter in law, Kristen Onstott; and Son in law, Ben Todd, along with family and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
As he joins his mother, Christine, in the heaven, Troy will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of music, his hardworking hands, his loyalty, and the laughter and joy he brought into the lives of those around him. He was a man who knew how to work hard, love deeply, and enjoy the ride.
Though his time here was far too short, the memories he created and the love he gave will live on through the family he treasured and the countless lives he touched.
A Memorial Service for Troy will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Howe Mortuary & Crematory, located at 439 Coffman Street, in Longmont, Colorado.
