Verna Annabelle Lewis

Verna Lewis of Longmont, died October 29, 2009 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 73.Verna was born on September 11, 1936 in Brighton, Colorado to John Lee and Vursa Jordan Lee. Raised in the Tri-Town area, she graduated from Frederick High School, where she participated in the school orchestra and marching band.On June 2, 1962 she married Duane Lewis in Firestone, Colorado. Together they operated Lewis Cleaners, Ft. Lupton for 18 years. An excellent seamstress she also provided for alterations for their business. Verna was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ft. Lupton.Surviving are her husband of Longmont; a daughter Terri (John) Ryan of Longmont; a son Larry (Diana) Lewis of Boulder; 6 grandchildren Jason (Shelley) Ryan, Cody (Sarah Heflin) Russell, Shawn (Amanda Arguello) Ryan, Benny (Katie Spence) Lewis, Becky Lewis and Lonnie Lewis; and 2 great grandchildren Trinity Heflin and Mariah Annabelle Ryan. She is further survived by a sister Elma Berig of Brighton and 3 sisters in laws Elvira Lee, Virginia Lee and Eleanor Good; 1 brother in law Horace Good. Visitation hours will be from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3 at the Howe Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 4 at the First United Methodist Church, Ft.
