Virginia Joyce Donahue passed away at her home in Longmont, Colorado on August 13, 2024 after a brief illness. Virginia was born on May 4, 1939, in Lee County, Kentucky to her parents Okley and Oma (Morefield) Willis. She grew up in Peru, Indiana, and attended local schools. She married William Arlen Spies in Eldorado Kansas on December 30, 1965. They later divorced and she married Phillip Donahue on October 24, 1991, at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The majority of Virginia's working years were for the federal government, and she retired in 1994 as a purchasing agent at the Department of Commerce in Boulder Colorado.
Survivors include her sister Helen Groce, her two daughters Susan and Laura Spies, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, William Robert Spies, and both of her husbands.
Virginia was a kind, loving person devoted to God and family. She has chosen to have no memorial services, but the family may have a private service at a later date.
