Virginia Mae Hedger (Ginger) entered God’s kingdom on October 12, 2026, at home surrounded by some of her closest loved ones. Including her beloved son, caretaker, and roommate of over 48 years, Shawn Hedger, and her sister Geri.
Ginger was born on January 31, 1945, in Sterling, Colorado to Amelia Rose Pimple and George John Pimple. She was the youngest of 4 daughters. Sisters who she deeply adored, Ginger had a special fondness for her sister Geri, due to their closeness in age. Ginger and Geri held a special bond, they were inseparable from the time Ginger was born. She loved and cherished her other sisters as well; making plenty of time to enjoy their favorite activities and continue to build wonderful relationships.
In Ginger’s later years she married her husband, Orval Hedger, in December of 1968 in Longmont, Colorado, following a move to the area in the early 1960’s. Together they raised their two children, Shawn and Amy Hedger. She loved her children and had a special bond with her son Shawn, who she deeply loved and adored. Ginger took a lot of pride in being a homemaker and supporting her family. She was so full of love for all her family and friends. When she had time on her hands she enjoyed making a variety of dishes; her favorites were cinnamon rolls, lasagna, and birthday cakes for her loved ones, along with many other delicious meals.
She was full of faith and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Ginger always found herself full of joy when assisting in food preparations for St. John's Altar & Rosary Society. In her later years she dedicated a great amount of time and effort to contributing with the other members, but she enjoyed every minute of being able to give back to her community and connect with others who shared her faith and adoration of the Lord.
Ginger is preceded in passing by her husband Orval Hedger; her loving parents George and Amelia Pimple; her older sisters Doris Pimple and Patricia Johnson (Harold); and her niece Kelley Hernandez.
She is survived by her children Shawn Hedger and Amy Hedger. As well as her sister Geri Lopez (Tom); 2 granddaughters; her great-grandson Cashman; her nieces Jenny (Tino) and Shelley (Charlie); her nephews Mark (Michelle) and Tom (Karen); her great-nieces Amelia, Sophia, Ava, Giana, Nicole; and her great-nephews whom she shared a special connection to.
