Virginia A Parra (Gonzales) was born in Loveland Colorado on September 27th,1943 to Luis and Florence Gonzales. She was the 4th child out of 5. She had one sister and three brothers. No wonder she was so tough. She grew up in Johnstown and was a country girl at heart. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in the 60's and gave birth to her first beautiful daughter, Lorraine. A few years later and she met David E. Parra and married him on July 21, 1973. They would have celebrated 45 years this year. ""Ginni"" as everyone knew her also gave birth to a handsome son and later another beautiful daughter. Ginni's children were the light of her life as well as her grandchildren. She once wrote this about them and it's called ""Precious Memories"".
If in my life I could relive my days,
The very best would be my children.
The precious memories of my children growing-
I carry those in my heart forever.
Ginni spent most of her life as a CNA. She would take a break here and there but, always returned to her true calling as a caretaker. She was never just a CNA. Ginni gave it her all. Her patients loved her. She knew when they needed to laugh and she would make them. She knew if they needed to cry and gave them her shoulder. And when they were leaving this earth, she gave them her hand. But, she was also this way for her co-workers. As a matter, of fact, she didn't have many co-workers but, lots of friends. She was so well respected and knew every trick in the book because she pretty much wrote it. She raised many CNAS including her daughter Jami and several nurses fresh out of school. Because she was so well loved and respected among us all we gave her the nickname ""Mom"". She mothered us all if we needed a talking to she gave it. She could be hard but, always fair. At the same time if you were working on the floor and haven't seen her in a bit you know to be wary. She was either going to scare you out of nowhere or was planning an elaborate prank to make you laugh. It was her kid at heart attitude that made her the one everyone wanted to work with and more importantly made you want to be her friend. People were drawn to her. Ginni loved life and this great big beautiful world. She loved the outdoors, planting flowers, camping, hiking and four-wheeling up at the sand dunes with her family and friends. She was an amazing wife, mother, and friend. There will never be another like her in this world. She was one of a kind. She is survived by her husband David E. Parra. Her daughter Lorraine Chrislonsen and husband JC and grandchildren Micheal and Mathew. Her son Jason Parra. Her daughter Jami Monroe and husband Chris and their daughter Emeree who she enjoyed watching grow and play with all the joy in her heart. She also has 2 great grandchildren she is proud of. Many of her loved ones have preceded her in death and were waiting to embrace her. Mama Ginni, you will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont.
