
“Dub” was born on December 27, 1940 in Houston, Texas to Walter Northcutt and Alma Martin Northcutt. He married Linda Striebel on December 27, 1964 in Bronx, New York. Dub earned a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma St. University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas.
Dub and Linda moved to Erie, CO in 2005. He sold his San Diego-based company, Structural Technology Consultants (STC), two years later and retired. Prior to founding STC in 1991, Dub worked at Tru-Span Structures (Chula Vista, CA); Western Structures (Gardena, CA); San Diego Prestressed Concrete; for the City of San Diego building department; and the Rohr Corporation (Chula Vista, CA).
Dub was on the Erie Community senior softball and volleyball teams; the Men’s Golf League at Colorado National Golf Club and had played on multiple bowling leagues. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing at his church, Christ the Servant Lutheran Church; the Erie Senior Center; through volunteering at local nursing facilities; and at all family gatherings. Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother, Charlie Fritz.
Surviving Dub are Linda, his wife; a daughter Cheryl (John) Schuberth of Erie; a son Wayne (Shannon) Northcutt of Boulder; three grandchildren Jeremy and Colten Schuberth and Tess Northcutt; two brothers David Northcutt and Ron Fritz, both of Pasadena, Texas; and sister Bonnie (Marshall) Parks of Grand Saline, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, Louisville.
