Wallace Kay Dickey

Wallace Kay Dickey passed away December 2, 2018, in Westminster, Colorado at the age of 87 years old. He was born June 11, 1931, in North Platte, Nebraska to Robert Covell Dickey and Mabelle Loraine Dickey. Wally entered the Navy in November, 1950 as a radio operator, and was honorably discharged in September 1954, after serving in the Korean War. In October 1954, Wallace married the love of his life, Carol Jane Burns in Raton, Colorado. Soon after, Wally and Carol moved from Longmont, Colorado down to Westminster, Colorado and Wally began working at Sundstrand. He worked for Sundstrand for 35 years in the quality engineering department, retiring in 1990. Wally was blessed with four sons, Robert Russell Dickey, born in 1955, Steven Blaine Dickey, born in 1957, Mark Alan Dickey, born in 1960 and Donald Scott Dickey, born in 1961.

Wally enjoyed boating, jet-skiing and water-skiing, especially at Lake Powell, where the family would gather every year for houseboat trips. He also loved to travel to beach destinations, including Mexico and Hawaii. He was a member of the Hyland Hills Golf Club, and played golf every week with his good friends. Bowling was also a weekly activity that Wally enjoyed. At the Wheatland, Wyoming Moose Lodge Wally was a regular at the Friday night horseshoe tournaments with Don and Robert where he was one of the better players.

Survivors include sister Diane Fish, Carol Dickey, Robert Dickey, Donald Dickey (Terri), Steven Dickey (Cindy), and Mark Dickey; grandchildren Michelle Clinkenbeard, (Curt), Stephanie Dickey, Matthew Dickey, Laura Stone (Spencer), Michael Dickey, Corinne Murphy (Chris), Jami McCloskey (Scott), Danica Lewis (Bryan) and Ashley Huggett (Zack); great-grandchildren Curtis Clinkenbeard Jr., Claire Clinkenbeard, Barrett Stone, Ari Stone, Ulysses Lewis, Abraham Lewis, Eve Lewis, and Camden Murphy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street in Longmont, Colorado. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont.
