April 9,2021. Warren had health issues for several years unfortunately leading up to
his passing.
Warren is survived by his wife Kathi, son Matthew, both of Longmont.
He is also survived by his sister Patty, of Oregon, and Brother and Sister in law
Ron and Janette Smith of Longmont, Brother in law Willie (Beverly) Biddle and his sweet and faithful dog Jack. Warren had many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Warren was born Longmont on October 10,1945 to Laurence and Bernice Powell, he joined
his two sisters Carol and Patty. He attended St. John’s Catholic school until the 9th grade.
He was a stinker even then, he said he lettered as an alter boy 3 years in a row.
Needless to say he was sent home for doing things he shouldn’t have. His mother was
mortified! Warren went to Longmont High School and graduated either 63 or 64, he said
he had a class ring with rotating years. Warren did some baseball coaching and played
intermural football with many graduated classmates. Warren also served in the Army and
went to Viet Nam.
Warren had a close group of friends that had practically grown up together and stayed in
touch regularly. He cherished those friendships.
Warren worked for many years in trucking transportation locally. He loved his customers and took pride in the relationships he had with them as well as the many friends he made with the other drivers which remains today.
Warren and Kathi married July 2, 1976 in Las Vegas where Warren had a bloody nose on the lawn
of the Clark County Court house...he was always looking for attention!
We were fortunate to spend time in Arizona, Laughlin and Las Vegas Nevada, Mexico such fun times. We also took a few cruises which were fun too!
Warren was preceded in death by his parents and his dear sister Carol. Wilma and Henry Smith
also preceded him as well.
A Celebration of his Life will be June 4, 2021 11am to 2pm at Old Mill Park, 201-299 Pratt Street
