Wendell V. Davis passed away July 15, 2018 in Longmont, Colorado. Wendell was one of 6 siblings, the only boy, born December 29th, 1926 in Mt. Clare, Nebraska. He grew up a strapping, hard working farm boy in the Superior, NE area until he was drafted into the Army at age 18. In 1945, he was thrust from a small farm in NE to the theater of war. He served as a soldier in WWII in the Philippines and Japan. He returned to NE after the war, and soon moved to Colorado where he worked as a carpenter, followed by a career at Rocky Flats Nuclear Plant where he remained from 1954-1988. Wendell met and married his wife, Eula J. Cropp, on April 15, 1965, in Idaho Springs, CO. They lived together in Longmont for 53 years. Wendell was an avid outdoorsman, skilled woodworker and artist, a loving dad and grandpa, a deeply kind and compassionate listener, and a unflappable rock to so many.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Eula Davis; 4 children, Randy Davis, Monte Davis, Sharla Barritt and Marisa Harper; sister Marilyn Edwards; and many devoted and adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Wendell was preceded in death by his 8 yr old son, Scottie; sisters Ferne, Marcilene, Lavon and Glendora; and parents Granville Wm Davis and Blanche Beck Davis.
