

Wilburt Zulauf, 77, of Longmont, CO passed away on January 31st. He was born on December 9th, 1936 in Windsor, Co to Jacob Zulauf and Anna (Zwetizig) Zulauf. Will was the youngest of six children. He grew up in the Windsor area, and moved to Cheyenne, WY in 1944.He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956-1957 and earned a BA from the University of Wyoming and an MA from the University of Northern Colorado. Will married Patricia Ready in August, 1963. Will initially relocated to the Longmont area as an employee of JC Penny's and then embarked on a very fulfilling career as a social studies teacher in the St. Vrain Valley School District for 28 years. He taught at Longmont Junior High School, Longmont HS and ended his teaching career at Skyline HS. In addition, Will was a local real estate agent since 1984. Outside of his work, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching Rockies games, and traveling to military reunions each summer. He was also was member of the SVVSD retired teachers association.He is survived by his wife of 50 years Patricia, children Bill, Threasa, Kathy, Colleen and granddaughter Cristina; sisters, Ruth Storey of Cheyenne, Wilma Bloom of San Clemente, California, sister-in-law Jan Zulauf of Thornton and brother-in-law Cliff Baldwin of Cheyenne, WY and many nieces and nephews. Will was preceded in death by siblings Edward, Viola, and E.J. The family is very grateful to the wonderful and compassionate staff of the Tru Community Care Hospice center. A graveside service will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, with a gathering for family and friends to follow after.
