William Dean McEntee

William Dean McEntee (Bill), 76, passed away at home May 11, 2011. Bill was born on February 18, 1935, in Red Cloud, Nebraska, to Leo and Marie (Cahill) McEntee. He attended school in Cowles, Nebraska, graduating in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He was honorably discharged after being called home from Germany due to family reasons. He married Marilyn Severtson on January 4, 1963, in Mitchell, South Dakota. He and Marilyn moved to Longmont in 1965 from Mitchell. Bill worked for Gould National Batteries, Myers and Company, and eventually retired form IBM in 1995. Bill and Marilyn attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church.As Bill thought the world of his grandchildren, he enjoyed attending sporting events, school functions, and choir concerts in support of their efforts. It was a daily tradition for Bill and Marilyn to enjoy coffee at Aunt Alice's. He was always tinkering with things around the house making sure he could fix things himself¦Bill was very devoted to his two boxers Tyson and Oscar, always bringing them biscuits and gravy from his breakfast outings.Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bob and Bernard McEntee; his two sisters Patricia Hodge, and Delores (Mary) Pierce.Bill is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Jeff (Tracy) McEntee, two daughters Lori (Greg) Orr and Lisa McEntee; five grandsons LCPL. Anthony McEntee (Marines), Adrian Vigil, Jordan McEntee, PFC Alec Orr (U.S. Army) and Justin McEntee; two granddaughters Taylor Orr and Brianna McEntee; Sandy (Dennis) Lanham, and numerous other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two beloved boxers Tyson and Oscar.Visitation will be Sunday May 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday May 16 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Longmont.
