Born on July 12, 1948, Bill lived a full and passionate life marked by curiosity, conviction, and a deep devotion to those he loved. He served his country in the United States Air Force at the beginning of his career, then continued his profession as a skilled electrical engineer. Bill was known not only for his technical mind but also for his endless desire to learn, build, and explore.
Bill was a man of many passions. Whether he was flying the skies as a private pilot, photographing the world through his lens, tinkering on projects in his garage, or tracking the latest weather systems as an amateur meteorologist, Bill brought energy and enthusiasm to everything he did. He was a proud supporter of the Second Amendment and an unapologetic patriot who loved his country and believed fiercely in the values of freedom and self-reliance.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; daughters Tracy Schmidt and Kelly Teague; son Jay Nettleblad; grandchildren Avery and Eli Schmidt, Gage Nettleblad, Kayla Parry and Sadie Teague; and sister Christine Welch. His role as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend defined his life, and his unwavering support for his family was felt in both the big moments and the quiet, steady presence he offered daily.
Bill was a beer enthusiast who never passed up a good brew, a good laugh, or a trip to somewhere warm. His favorite destination was a beach in Florida, a pool in Mexico, or scuba diving in the Bahamas. He loved traveling with Pat and cherished every adventure, near or far. Over the years they traveled to Russia, Europe, South Pacific, Alaska and Hawaii. He and Pat also had many adventures while flying his Cessna 182 with the Colorado Pilots Association all over the Western United States.
Bill was a devoted husband and father, a true gun-toting patriot and supporter of freedom. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
At this time, no funeral or memorial service has been scheduled. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you honor Bill’s memory by raising a glass, taking a moment to look up at the sky, or simply doing something you love with those you cherish. Here’s to you Bill- May your skies be blue, your landings smooth, and your Kozel Dark always full.
Cheers.
