

Winnifred S. Winnie Batina, 90, passed away February 25, 2018 at the Bridge Assisted Living in Longmont.She was born September 13, 1927 in Saint John's, Newfoundland, Canada to Harold and Helen (Harding) Adams. Winnie met Arnold Batina while he was stationed in Newfoundland with the United States Air Force. They were married on September 6, 1952 in Saint John's. They moved to Longmont in October of 1968.Winnie is remembered as a loving wife, mother and later grandmother and great-grandmother. She and Arnie were devoted to each other. Winnie loved having her family around whether for picnics in the backyard, holiday dinners or just to spend time together. She was a 4-H mom for her three girls.She was a woman of deep faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith influenced her entire family. Winnie was a member of Faith Community Lutheran Church and a student of her bible, including belonging to Bible Study Fellowship.Winnie was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of the Country Club and she enjoyed playing bridge.She was preceded in death by her husband Arnie and son-in-law John Quale.Winnie is survived by three daughters Jill Batina Quale, Nancy Benson (John) and Janet Miskowicz (Paul); seven grandchildren Brian Fox, Jenny Fox, Matthew Benson (April), Lara Howes (Cody), Natalie Lowry (Jeremy); Rachel Miskowicz and Peter Miskowicz and nine great-grandchildren Landon, Mallory, Collette, Estelle, Shyanne, Zane, Hannah, James and Margaret.Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, March 12, 2018 at Faith Community Lutheran Church. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inurnment at Ryssby Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels. Share condolences at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
