"Your Butcher" Frank Paul Occhiuto

Frank Paul Occhiuto, 96, of Longmont, died February 22, 2021, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 5, 1924 in Sheffield, PA to Frank and Rose (Schalise) Occhiuto. He was raised in the Chadron, NE area where he graduated from Assumption Academy at 17, he then enlisted in the US Navy where he served during both WWII and the Korean war. He was a radio operator on the USS Lowry during WWII. He was honorably discharged in June of 1954. On November 26, 1946, he married Elaine Lucas in Crawford, NE. They lived in Orange, CA prior to making their home in Longmont. They were happily married for 43 years. She preceded him in death in 1993. On December 19, 1995, he married Marion Occhiuto. They would be happily married for almost 20 prior to her passing in 2015.

Mr and Mrs Occhiuto started Your Butcher Frank in Broomfield in 1978. Frank later opened up another shop in Longmont in 1980. He would eventually pass those businesses on to his children. Your Butcher Frank still operates in Longmont serving the community Frank loved.

He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. Franks faith was a very important part of his life. He also served as a sacristan at St Francis of Xavier. He loved fly fishing, he even tied his own flies. Frank and Elaine also served as campground hosts in Peaceful Valley. They were members of the Escapees RV club and took many trips throughout the country. He loved shooting pool and also spending time with his family.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, both of his wives and his brother Tony.

He is survived by his children: Steve (Joanne) Occhiuto of Loveland, Tina Mally (Randy) of Longmont, David Occhiuto of Longmont and Frankie Occhiuto of Longmont. Frank leaves behind his legacy of 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

A time visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00pm on Monday, March 1, 2021 followed by the recitation of the rosary at 6:00pm, both at Howe Mortuary. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church. Frank will be laid to rest between Elaine and Marion at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont.

Memorial contributions in Franks name can be made to the OUR center, or St John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Heaven welcomed a very special person as we mourn a life so well-lived! You were such a blessing to everyone you met and gave the gift of love and friendship to all!
You may be gone from our sight, but are forever in our hearts, as you are now living eternally with God.
I have SO many precious memories of you that I will forever cherish! You have and always will hold a special place in my heart❤️

As a lifelong customer of YBF, I had the pleasure of meeting Frank numerous times. He exuded class, professionalism, and a wit near unmatchable. Condolences to the family and friends of this wonderful man.
